Outdoor House Plaque
This plaque was designed to complement a lovely home in the historic district of Olde Richmond. The existing plaque was showing wear and inconsistent with the style of the house. The home's new owner was looking for a house plaque that would be legible from the street while incorporating themes and colors consistent with the age of the structure. Because of the close proximity to the Studio, color matching and size were determined on location and existing nails from the previous sign were used to avoid damaging the old bricks.
The plaque was cut from weatherproof composite board and brushed with an oil primer. The background color was then applied and the lettering and designs brushed in using gouache paints. Several coats of varnish followed to protect the design and give the plaque a satin finish.
